Marin County, California

A life well-lived
starts at home.

Ostra is a living system for the nourishment, beauty, home, and community that make a life feel genuinely tended. Rooted in the landscape of West Marin. Built for families who have chosen a slower, more intentional rhythm.

The founding story

After years of great cities,
I chose this.

"After years of building a life across San Francisco, Los Angeles, London — the great cities that shape you — I found myself in Marin, watching my children run through the Point Reyes fog, and understood something I hadn't been able to name before."

The pace wasn't sustainable. The products I was using weren't honest. The food wasn't rooted in anything. And somewhere along the way, I had stopped building the kind of community that makes a life feel held. Ostra is what I built when I decided to change all of it.

Emilie Scherrer
Founder, Ostra Living

"Marin is full of people quietly craving the same thing — the ambitious ones who chose nature, the city people who found themselves wanting roots."

Ostra is a living system for people who are done performing wellness and ready to actually practice it. For the nourishment, the restoration, the home that holds you, and the community that makes it worth it.

Built in Marin County. Shaped by weekends in Point Reyes, Tuesday farmers markets, and long tables with people we love.

Why Marin

A place that teaches you
how to slow down.

No one has bottled this into a brand before. The quietly abundant, health-conscious, intellectually serious, outdoorsy-but-refined life that Marin holds. Ostra is that — a love letter to a specific way of living in a specific place.

The land
Rooted in season

Marin Sun Farms. Cowgirl Creamery. Point Reyes. The provenance story writes itself — if you're paying attention.

The rhythm
Intentionally slow

Cold bay swims. Hiking before school drop-off. Knowing your farmer. This is wellness without the noise.

The people
A community worth keeping

Cosmopolitan pasts, deliberate present. The kind of place where the cousins show up and nobody checks their phone.
